Well-Being and Loving Life

How easy is it to care for ourselves, smile, laugh, and greet each day with HELLO when we love our lives? We eat better, play harder, sleep well, and enjoy more.

Everything seems to flow on our best days, and on the days it doesn't flow, everything goes off the rails. Living off the rails is the norm for some, and the "living in flow" days are the exception.

What if that could be turned around? What if minor modifications to how you show up and think about your daily life could make the days and smiles flow?

We each make choices every day that lead us to where we currently stand in our lives. I recently had a conversation with a friend who boldly said that our lives, as they are today, are precisely what we WANT them to be. Because I live in the coaching world, I understood her intent. That said, I challenged her. I do believe, the majority of the time, that our choices create our reality. Of course, there are situations in our lives that we have no control over, but the ones we control can lead to happiness or misery, contentment or discontentment, judgment to lack of judgment, etc. I think you know where I am going here. What I challenged her on was the word want. Yes, people who invest time and effort in themselves and have a true sense of self and clarity on their wants can and do create the lives they want. For many, though, the life they live today is the result of settling, giving up or giving in, not knowing what to do or how to do it, lack of confidence, lack of hope, living in fear and anxiety, or accepting the unacceptable because the alternative is scarier.

The good news is that anyone can pivot and make different choices to move toward the life they WANT. Well-being comes in many shapes and sizes, and living a life you love is one of them.

What's one choice you can make today that will move you closer to a life you love?
